The Redneck Crew are all suckers for a good Pinot Noir deal, that must be how we ended up with three different fantastic bottles with great scores for such awesome deals. The Nicolas Jay has fast become a reliable name for Willamette Valley Pinot in the shop, and the previous vintage (the 2016) was very popular, and now the new vintage is out with 93 points, and for $44.97, that's 30% off the winery price. The Solena is just darn good, what-Willamette-is-all-about juice. Previous vintage got 92 points (the current vintage has not been scored yet) so we know this bottle will get some good recognition as well, we certainly think it should at $21.97! What a deal. Finally, the Shaw + Smith Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir. Well, I like what James Suckling has to say about it: "A very complex pinot noir that has a strong, whole-bunchy streak with a big hit of sappy, stalky character across red to dark cherries. Still very wound-up. The palate has a sleek, smooth feel with ripe, red-cherry and berry flavors, delivered in a succulent, juicy mode. Drink or hold. 93 points." Wow.
