96 & 97 Point Lopez de Heredia Spanish Beauties - My New Favorites & More!
I'm not sure when it happened exactly, but I know how I figured it out - my favorite kind of wine is a nicely vintaged Spanish wine (for now at least!). In particular, I'm loving Tempranillo/Rioja, and these bottles were the ones that made me realize it. I opened a bottle of the 2008 Lopez de Heredia Reserva Vina Bosconia and a bottle of 2008 Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva (both Tempranillo based red blends) over the weekend while lighting the grill in the back yard. I wanted to try them side by side, was my excuse (feel free to use that one). What Spanish Beauties! I've got to be honest with you, I liked the wine so much that I kind of forgot the grill was heating up outside and before I knew it I had way overshot my preheat. Oh well, easy fix, and so worth it to have had my glass filled with such show-stoppers! These wines got fantastic scores at 96 and 97pts, if you needed any more convincing. The Vina Tondonia Reserva even comes in 3 sizes, all line priced! Click the button below and see those beauties and more in the collection. Don't take too long though, I'm still pretty thirsty... Stay safe, stay healthy and drink well. David Werlin Redneck Wine Crew
