The VHR Cabernet is a legend in the making. They deliver a luxury Cabernet each vintage. I was able to have lunch a couple of years ago with the general manager, and was so impressed with the meticulous manner that goes into crafting this Cabernet. I am fortunate to taste many great Cabernets each year, and the VHR is one that stands out each and every vintage. Hey, I understand that $279.97 is no bargain, but when you look at what some of the Napa Cabernets twice that price are scoring, you will understand, and if you pop a bottle well then you will really understand. This wine is special. The 2018 Vine Hill Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is just about as good as Napa Valley gets. Boasting 98 points from Vinous—which said it “captivates all the senses with its sensual personality—it’s a stirring, age-worthy masterpiece sourced grown on an iconic site and crafted by reigning San Francisco Chronicle Winemaker of the Year Françoise Peschon. Vine Hill Ranch stands with To Kalon, Eisele, and Dr. Crane as one of the defining Cabernet Sauvignon sites of Napa Valley. It was founded by Marin County rancher Bruce Kelham, who in 1959 purchased over 1,000 acres on the varied terrain where the Mayacamas Mountains meet the valley floor. Tim Alberdi Redneck Wine Crew
