Despite its grandiose title as the King of Wine, Barolo doesn’t have be set aside for special occasions – though it is one of the most age-worthy wines available. It’s one of the only wines around that given its price is both collectible and drinkable daily. The firm, luscious reds of Barolo are perfect for spring and summer barbecues, mushroom risottos in the fall, or hearty steak dinners in the winter. Their versatile flavor profiles, with considerably concentrated flavors of tar and rose, are perfect with dried meats and hard cheeses ( hello, charcuterie platter! ) and especially with truffles. “Don’t be intimidated by Barolo’s prestige, you don’t need a special occasion to enjoy it,” says Drocco. “You can share it with your family or friends at home or during a party. Don’t let somebody else drink your Barolo!” (Above from an article in Vinepair) Stay safe, stay healthy and drink well. Tim Alberdi Redneck Wine Crew
The wines from Robert Denogent could easily be mistaken for wines much higher in price. My children enjoy wine, especially my daughter. I have to admit, she does have a wonderful palate. I put a bottle of the Denogent in the fridge and when I came home, she had helped herself and said, "Dad, that wine is really good" having no idea what the price was. So, last night the family went out to a nice dinner and my daughter and I both ordered some seafood ravioli (it was delicious) with a glass of Pouilly Fuisse and she casually looked at me and said " Dad, I'm really getting into these White Burgundys!" Oh my, I thought for a moment then I quickly realized this is what it's all about. Cheers Nina. At a fraction of the price of the appellations of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, to which they are often compared by aficionados and critics alike, the wines of Robert-Denogent offer tremendous value, wonderful richness, and impressive complexity. I love Pinot Noir. There, I said it. Sure, it started off as a way to keep drinking red wine in the middle of Florida Summer heat. Over a searing hot grill, my mind just doesn't immediately go for a hefty Cab. But as I found more and more reason to pop a bottle of Pinot (albeit, Tim getting more into Pinot hasn't hurt this process either), I realized, I just love it! Colene Clemens is a winery that has proven to me personally, bottle after bottle, that they know how to put together a beautifully elegant wine, but back it with some nice power. The 2017 Margo Pinot Noir is no exception. In fact, I'd say it does just those things particularly well. It got 94 points, and is $36.97. We do have a few 2016's left (92pts) and some more 2018 Dopp Creek Pinot Noir as well, just click the button below and pick out a few! Stay safe, stay healthy and drink well.
