The 2018 Finca Villacreces is a blend of 87% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot that matured for 15 months in 225- and 500-liter oak barrels, 50% of them new. It's from a cooler year, and the wine has lower alcohol and more freshness but feels quite tannic. It's powerful and concentrated, with marked oak flavors on the finish. This is fresher but oakier than I like. 58,080 bottles and 555 magnums produced. It was bottled in July 2020.

Winemaker Notes

Intense cherry red color with garnet tones. Powerful aroma of ripe fruit, liquorice with mineral and balsamic nuances provided by the cabernet, its complexity is completed by its touches of toffee. On the palate, fatty entrance with volume, long and persistent. Tasty with ripe tannins, hints of licorice, black fruit and coffee.
