92pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Actaeon Quixote Vineyard displays a deep garnet-purple color. It features notes of baked black and red cherries, blackcurrant preserves, sautéed herbs and tobacco leaf with touches of fallen leaves and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm, grainy texture and loads of freshness supporting the abundant black fruit layers, finishing with an herbal lift. 147 cases were made.
Black currant, plum and tobacco. There is plenty of acidity and balance here. The wine is nimble and bright with black cherry, tobacco, black currant, milk chocolate and butterscotch. Good weight and lovely density. Powerful but moderated by richness and velvety texture. Will be very rewarding for those that wait.
