91pts Connoisseur Guide to California Wine
Cabernets sourced from the Stagecoach Vineyard invariably are wines of great gravity and concentration, and Stringer’s is a dark, very deep, densely extracted version that meets every expectation. It is presently bound up by its youth with unconcealed tannins to spare, yet its highly extracted, very generous fruit is in no way inhibited or hidden, and, although it unquestionably has the structure, the substance and the sheer fruity depth to ensure grand things with age, it is a wine that will take its time in fully coming into its own. No fewer than a half-dozen years of cellaring is warranted here, and those with the patience to wait for ten will have no regrets that they did.

With 2% Petite Sirah, this wine isn't shy in power or concentration. Its dark inky color leads to dark, fleshy black fruit and broad, sweet tannins. The richness is complemented by herbal elements and a mineral component of crushed rock. VIRGINIE BOONE
