Luxuriously powerful with complex layers of ripe stone fruit, savoury grapefruit, smoky flinty mineral notes and nutty cedarwood. Silky, classic and understated with great intensity and presence.
94pts Wine Enthusiast
This wine has great potential. Rich white fruits and generous wood aging form elements of a wine that will take time to mature. To contrast, a strong streak of textured minerality highlights the wine’s promise. Drink from 2023.
92pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Monnot's 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes is a success, offering up aromas of ripe lemons, citrus oil, honeycomb and a deft touch of new wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and nicely concentrated, with a deep, layered core and a compelling sense of completeness. While it will drink well young, this has the substance to evolve in bottle.
92pts Wine Spectator
This round version exhibits peach, melon and apple fruit, with a smoky undertone and vanilla and toast notes. Lively, lingering with fruit and spice accents. Drink now through 2025.
