Opaque ruby. Powerful, mineral-tinged red and dark berry preserve, potpourri and candied licorice scents, plus vanilla and baking spice nuances in the background. Sweet, seamless and expansive on the palate, offering densely packed black raspberry, blueberry, mocha and floral pastille flavors given lift and spine by a core of smoky minerality. Finishes extremely long and smooth, with slow-building tannins and lingering floral pastille and blue fruit preserve notes. Raised for 19 months in new French oak barrels.

A concentrated tempranillo with a ton of fine-grained tannins. This is still a little shy on the smoky and cocoa-powder nose, but is beginning to develop very nicely on the well structured palate. A touch less oak might have given this more.

A textbook Tempranillo, the 2015 Pago Negralada has varietal aromas, red fruit, licorice and spices and a classical, velvety and elegant texture with focused and clean flavors, great harmony and a tasty, long finish. This is like an upgraded version of the Selección Especial. It's a good representation of the zone through its gentle tannins that kind of hide the natural power. It very faithfully represents the conditions of the year, the place and the variety. A true, honest Tempranillo. Bravo!

This red is rich yet focused. The texture is dense, the tannins firm, yet the wine remains expressive, with black cherry, loamy earth, black olive and herb flavors. Juicy acidity keeps this lively.
Very intense, fresh nose, aromas of wild black fruit with subtle creamy notes. Vibrant attack invades then the palate with delicacy, leading to an ample wine, solid, meaty and oily with unusual refined tannins for a Tempranillo. Very long finish well marked with the character of the varietal. Probably our best ever Pago Negralada.
