As for the red wines, Alpha Omega no doubt spends big dollars to get access to some of the great Beckstoffer vineyards that are spread throughout Napa Valley. In addition, they have their own other sources that have come through strongly in this seductive and appealing 2014 vintage for Bordeaux varietals. The 2014 Proprietary Red offers a dense ruby/purple color, a big, sweet kiss of blueberry and graphite, medium to full body, decent acidity and silky tannin. It is a beauty to drink over the next 15-20 years.
Deep, dark ruby with touches of Ferrari red on the rim. On the nose, the wine shows beautiful notes of toasted brioche, granite and dark cherry aromas with licorice, violet and paprika notes. On the palate, soft but balanced entrance evolving on a tannic frame with touches of cherry pit and plum lingering on crème de cassis.
