This is Bergström’s entry-level pinot noir, blended from most or all of the winery’s many vineyard sources. But while it’s less detailed and riper than many of Bergström’s other wines, it’s delicious, a tension between savory notes and broad-shouldered red fruit, texturally seductive and lavished with oak-derived spice.

Cranberry and raspberry hold down the center of this blend, which serves as the entry point to the winery's extensive single vineyard portfolio. Citrus and herb flavors are well integrated, with just a hint of stem in the finishing tannins.
Cumberland Reserve is a blend of whole cluster and destemmed Pinot Noir fermentations that age for 12 months in 10% new French oak barrels.
The 2016 Cumberland Reserve is dark ruby in color and is very old school Oregonian with bright crunchy fresh fruit, earthy intensity, a reductive flintiness, mushroom-laden and almost Barbaresco-esque aromatic profile with dried herbs, flowers, meat, and pipe tobacco. It has succulent acidity and really fine tannnis and the aromatic complexity of thei wine unfurls continuously in the glass building in seriousness and deliciousness with each minute that it's open. This wine is really going to be a pleasure to watch over the next 20 years and begs to be paired with mushrooms, games, cheeses, truffles, rich sauces and even just a good book on a couch on a winter's night.
