The 2016 Canvasback Cabernet Sauvignon brings attention to the Red Mountain AVA in Washington State. This wine has a little bit of everything, and it is nicely put together. Enjoy its formidable aromas and flavors of black fruit, oak, and earth with a juicy, grilled ribeye. (Tasted: December 3, 2019, San Francisco, CA)

The 2016 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon has also been blended with 8% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. It has a nose of healthy red and black fruit along with the dusty Red Mountain minerality. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals a well-made wine with precision and balance and evolving expressions of red flowers, dusty minerality and balancing tannins on the long, well-structured finish. The overall production was 20,000 cases.
Robust and alluring, this gorgeous expression of Red Mountain Cabernet offers a medley of blue plum, black cherry and red berry aromas, along with notes of black licorice, cardamom, clove and sandalwood. On the palate, a creamy entry and ripe, fine-grained tannins build to a richly polished mid-palate, where luxurious layers of fruit mingle with hints of hazelnut, nutmeg, and baking spices.
