93pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Offering up a rich, patinated bouquet of spices, toasted nuts, dried fruit and peaches, the 2018 Saint-Véran Les Pommards Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, textural and sapid, with bright acids and an expansive finish. From a sunny, rocky site, this cuvée matured in equal proportions cement tank and old fûts.

This is aromatically similar to the Les Sardines but with the inclusion of soft mineral reduction nuances. The medium-bodied flavors are even richer if not quite as vibrant with even better volume while offering a bit more overall complexity on the powerful, citrusy and slightly more tightly wound finale.
90ptd Vinous
From soils that are very good at resisting hydric stress, the 2018 Saint-Véran Les Pommards has a complex bouquet with yellow plum, nectarine and touches of dried honey. The palate is powerful with fine balance and a silver bead of acidity with quite a refined, lightly spiced finish. Orange rind lingers on the aftertaste.
Winemaker Notes
More-than-fifty-year-old vines running through limestone and clay produce a wine that offers a creamy and luscious mouthfeel intertwined with a dry, stony minerality. Its aromas of sweet mandarin, lime leaf, and a hint of spice suggest a refreshing adult Creamsicle—perfect with summer sunshine and picnic fare or even a more elegant meal. While Les Pommards may be ignored by hard-line Meursault or Chassagne drinkers, you can do no better than to stock your cellar with this undervalued yet exceptionally worthy and genuinely charming jewel.
