Here the expressive if cool nose offers another step up in both elegance and complexity offering as it does notes of red currant, cassis, anise and spiced tea. There is a finer mouth feel to the more mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess solid density before concluding in a sneaky long and well-balanced finish. This needs to add a bit of depth but the material is present such that more should develop.
90pts Wine Spectator
Ripe cherry, graphite and earth flavors mark this supple, accessible red. Firms up enough for balance, with lingering mineral, earth and spice accents. Drink now through 2026.
This wine has a deep cherry color with garnet highlights. It boasts a bouquet of small red and black fruits (blackcurrant, cherry, raspberry) and flowers (violet). The body is ample and discreetly tannic and the fruit remains present. Frequently one will find an elegant hint of Morello cherry. Roundness, volume, power and balance are all here, and in just the right proportions.
