Vineyard: The 2016 Citrine is a blend of four different vineyards with an average vine age of almost 40 years. The base of the blend (50%) is a block of 42 year old, own-rooted vines at Rorick Heritage Vineyard in the Sierra Foothills. The blend also includes fruit from Haynes (Napa, 50 YO Vines), Heron Lake (Napa) & Brosseau vineyards (Chalone).
Vinitfication: The Chardonnay grapes were partially foot tread and left on the skins overnight before pressing. The juice was barrel fermented with native yeast and underwent full native ML fermentation.
"This wine is meant to be delicious, fun, just a little bit geeky and drinkable right away. Beeswax, white tea gummy bears, quince, lemon balm and a kiss of quartz." - John Lockwood
