94pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color—WOW—the 2017 Zinfandel Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard has an impressive perfume of rose hip tea, dried lavender, candied violets and chocolate-covered cherries over a core of baked plums, blackberry preserves and warm blueberries plus hints of raspberry leaves, dried Provence herbs and tilled soil. Full-bodied, rich and decadently fruited, it has a firm, chewy texture and bold freshness, finishing long and earthy.

The 2017 Zinfandel Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard is a bigger, more structured wine and, like the other Zinfandels here, is a field blend aged 10 months in 50% new oak. Beautiful notes of red plums, blueberries, sandalwood, and candied orange all flow to a medium to full-bodied red that has notable purity of fruit, a supple, sexy texture, no hard edges, and a great finish. Enjoy it over the coming decade as well.
93pts Wine Spectator
Broad and burly, with concentrated blueberry and blackberry flavors accented by tar, licorice and smoked pepper notes. Builds power toward broad-shouldered tannins. Best from 2021 through 2027.
