From the 10 acre estate vineyard in Oakville, cropped at quite low yields, this wine has a full aroma of black fruit and peppery spice. The palate is expansive and rich, with violet tinged cassis, menthol, fried herb, wood and peppery spice. There's a nice tar and liquorice and chocolate and coffee bean mid-palate leading into a long finish carried by a wave of raspberry acidity. Needs time. Drinking Window 2017 - 2027

A step up, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville comes in a big, oversized bottle and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was raised in 45% new French oak. Plums, incense, cedar and spice all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, ripe, frontend loaded 2014 that has a charming, endearing style ideal for drinking over the coming 10-15 years.
This 2014 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon presents with complex and evocative aromas of leather, white tobacco, fennel, anise and earthy cocoa with the freshness of ripe blackberry and coriander seeds. Warm vanilla, honeyed beeswax and plummy cherry compote deepen into a lovely tannin story at once firm and supple. A generous mouth with good activity and tension finishes with a lavender sappiness supported by a rich tactile element of ripe fruit and creamy oak.
