The 2020 Black Ops Shiraz Saperavi is juicy and jubey and bright purple on the nose. In the mouth, the wine is exactly that—with an infusion of additional tannin from the Saperavi. This is concentrated and teeth-staining—some froth on this combination, and if so, then this wine is for you. The profusion of fruit is impressive.

A potent plume of dark fruits, black tea and roast beets. Blood, violets, iron and bitumen. Plums and coal smoke. Monolithic in its band of fruit and tannin.
