91pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Bottled just a week before my visit, the 2017 Cotes du Rhone contains just 40% Grenache. There's 20% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, with the balance a mix of Carignan and Cinsault. Raised exclusively in concrete vats and foudres, it's a juicy, mouthwatering mixed bowl of blueberries and cherries that should please most palates. Medium to full-bodied, it features a plump, appealing texture and silky tannins. Despite pumping up the blend with other varieties, the shortage of Grenache this year means that production was down by 20%. It should still be a relative bargain.

91pts James Suckling

Modern, bright, attractive white that is built on grenache blanc with a handful of other varieties in the mix. White, stone fruit and pears here. Some gentle oak, used with the ten per cent roussanne and ten per cent viognier. There’s a northern exposure to these plots and freshness is the result. Drink now.

Winemaker Notes

Featuring a beautiful structure and crisp palate, this Cotes-du-Rhone develops notes of fresh fruit (crushed strawberry, blackberry) and a hint of licorice.

Moderately tannic, this wine pairs well with grilled meat or fresh tomato pie.
