91pts James Suckling
I love the raspberry and anise nose of this crisp and juicy red that shows what the original grape of Mendoza can do when a grower takes it seriously. A great picnic wine for drinking right now!
Blackberry, blueberry, tea and leather aromas are blunted by a fairly heavy blanket of oak. This Bonarda is full and creamy on the palate, with sticky tannins. Resiny, minty berry flavors include a whack of oaky clove, while this is woody tasting and thick in feel on the finish. MICHAEL SCHACHNER
Dark ruby-red. Blackberry and dark chocolate aromas are lifted by a floral quality. A juicy, energetic midweight with a touch of reduction but good depth of fruit. Finishes with a firmer tannic spine than the Tinto Red Blend but also with attractive restrained sweetness
Intense ruby color with bright aromas of fresh red & black raspberries and subtle smoky oak notes. The flavor of freshly-crushed raspberries is echoed on the palate, along with notes of leather, dark chocolate, and a touch sandalwood on the finish. Though quite rich and hedonistic, the seamless structure of this wine makes it a candidate for drinking in its youth or over the next few years (if you can wait that long). It will pair well with just about any foods with which you would drink Zinfandel or other fruit-driven reds.
