The 2018 Audacious is Southern France-like blend of 31% Grenache, 26% Carignan, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Syrah. It’s another ripe, heady, full-bodied effort from this estate that has ample black and blue fruits as well as notes of scorched earth, graphite, and ground pepper. It has the depth and structure to evolve for 8-10 years.

The 2018 Audacious is a blend of 31% Grenache, 26% Carignane, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Syrah, aged 22 months in 57% new oak. It offers graphite-laced blueberry fruits with notes of mint leaves, coffee and violet on the nose. The full-bodied palate is juicy and flavorful, its powerful fruits supported by grainy tannins, and it finishes long on a minerally note. 1,030 cases produced.
Audacious boasts a dark side everyone has come to know and love. Rich on the nose, it unveils chocolate, caramel and sawdust beneath a powerful exterior. Grenache’s zippy bright fruit launches through wet riverbed rock and limestone coolness. Carignan’s fiery persona adds spice and life, while Cabernet and Syrah are trusted to provide heavy, dark fruit like plum and blackberry along with beautiful mint and eucalyptus. Collectively, this chorus provides a broad mouthfeel and singing tannin structure.
