95pts Wine Enthusiast

A hint of stemmy earthiness leads the way to a luxurious, expansive and velvety palate. The acidity is edgy and fresh, lifting the savory and floral components over a rich, complex berry core.

94pts Tasting Panel

Aged sur lie for nine months in 55% new French oak, this wine is a merriment of earthly delights. Just-picked strawberries in tilled soil, mocha-kissed cherries, cinnamon, and coriander are demonstrative on both the nose and palate. Basil and sage echo on the red-fruited finish.

92pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Medium ruby, the 2019 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley opens with savory scents of cranberry sauce, rhubarb, cherries and violet perfume with earthy and meaty touches. The medium-bodied palate is lushly fruited with a grainy texture, juicy freshness and long, spicy finish.

90pts Jeb Dunnuck

Leading off a slew of Pinot Noirs, the 2019 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley reveals a healthy ruby color as well as terrific raspberry and cherry fruits, medium-bodied richness, a supple, elegant mouthfeel, present yet light tannins, and a good finish. It's charming, and while it drops off slightly on the finish, it’s balanced and satisfying. It should have 7-8 years of longevity.

Winemaker Notes

On the nose, aromas of red cherries, ripe raspberries, brambleberries and blueberries mingle with violets. Toasted brioche and sweet tea tease you to take a sip. Offering immediate palate appeal, the wine displays a beautiful balance of bright acidity and well-integrated tannins supported by a touch of warm French oak. Velvety and ripe with a lingering finish, all indications point to a long life ahead.
