91pts Wilfred Wong
With the continued escalation of Cabernet prices, at least one wine in the marketplace stays value-oriented. The excellent 2015 Rodney Strong Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon gets high marks for over-delivering. This wine is stylish and well-balanced. Its aromas and flavors of red fruit, black fruit, and oak are in beautiful proportions. Pair it with a lightly-seasoned seared flank steak. (Tasted: February 16, 2019, San Francisco, CA)
Winemaker Notes
Lush with blackberries, dark plum, and chocolate. Balanced by barrel aging, the soft, supple, and mature tannins give this wine an elegant backbone.
