Vinous / Antonio Galloni - "Rudd's 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Mt. Veeder is rich, and phenolic, with lovely mountain intensity and terrific overall balance. Bright, focused and nuanced throughout, the 2014 delivers considerable varietal character to match its inviting personality. Grapefruit, lemon peel, mint and crushed rocks flesh out in the glass. The inclusion of 16% Semillon and slightly later picking for Sauvignon Blanc yields a white wine of textural complexity."
Wine Spectator - "Rich and fragrant, with honeysuckle overtones to the melon and mango flavors, and touches of coconut water and lemon meringue. Smooth, juicy and spicy on the finish."
In the glass, the 2014 Rudd Mt. Veeder Sauvignon Blanc is pale and brilliant with an almost silver tint. The nose is elegantly suggestive of Sauvignon Blanc with both woody and citrus notes- especially lemon peel that develops into white, citrus ower aromatics with air. With a textured entry, followed by mineral, even saline texture, the evolution is accented by an earthy, dry tea leaf aspect. e white peach character of Semillon adds a fruit element to the wine.
