96pts Tasting Panel

Black, inky earthiness defines the nose and palate, along with a round, silky mouthfeel. Cocoa and dried violets appear against a slightly dusty backdrop, while notes of leather, black olive, and slate are soul-stirring. This vintage is GEO's most elegant to date, but its robust, statuesque character remains intact.

COMMENTARY: The 2017 Silverado Vineyards GEO Cabernet Sauvignon emphasis style and sleekness with this excellent performance. TASTING NOTES: This wine offers focused black fruit and pencil lead in its aromas and flavors while staying well balanced and refined. Pair it with a lightly-seasoned, pan-fried fillet of beef. 93pts Wine Enthusiast

This is a 100% varietal wine that hails from the producer’s Mount George Vineyard in the relatively cool appellation. Woody and herbal, it offers integrated layers of blueberry, cranberry and red currant. Tangy acidity boosts the dense underbelly of tannin and oak, while the finish is awash in crushed rock.

92pts James Suckling

A lovely, fruity red with cherry, blackcurrant and blueberry aromas and flavors. Medium body, pretty concentration of fruit and a medium finish. Nice, firm tannins. Very drinkable now, but can improve with age.

Winemaker Notes

Aromas of black cherry liquor, crushed hazelnut, tilled earth and dried rose petal. Decadent and rich on the palate with flavors of sweet dark plum and cocoa powder. Well-integrated tannins lead to a seamless finish.
