Fleshy and ample in the mouth, very exotic, with lots of fig, tar, peach and tobacco. A big spoonful of the warm south.
90pts Wine Enthusiast
A warm nose is a bit unsettled and strained due to high alcohol and full ripeness of Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. A heavy, almost soupy mouthfeel is almost over the line, while dark plum, blackberry and coffee flavors conclude on a finish that’s so ripe and weighty that it’s arguably lazy; drink only if rich and ripe reds are your thing.
Opaque purple. Explosive aromas of black and blue fruits are transformed into notes of liquorice, Indian spices and flower oils. Rich and long, it has a good acidity that lends elegance. In the mouth, sweet blueberries and redcurrants mark the palate with persistence in a spicy, concentrated finish.
This wine pairs best with rice from Pinoso (rabbit and snail), all types of roasted meat, and cured cheeses.
