Warming clove meets grapefruit zest on the nose of this wine. A bit of petrol comes through on the very linear, racy palate, which gets added interest from hints of that cozy spice characteristic. The finish is long and spicy.

The 2019 Grand Cru Schlossberg Riesling opens with a clear and elegant, sightly flinty or smoky bouquet with finely concentrated bright fruit aromas. Round and juicy, this is a supple, silky and elegant Schlossberg Riesling with delicate bitters on the finish. Bone dry. 13.9% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in May 2022.
About the Wine
In 2012, our family acquired 1.6 hectares in this renowned Grand Cru. We produced our first vintage in 2014 (marketed in 2017), in line with the pure and crystalline Riesling typical of that year.
It is the beginning of a collection of Riesling Grands Crus Trimbach, alongside the estate's jewels, Frédéric Emile and Clos Ste Hune.The Grand Cru Schlossberg is a granite terroir. Granite from Thannenkirch and migmatite granite (granite and gneiss) from Kaysersberg. Planted in 2 or 3-row south facing horizontal terraces and located next to the castle, this vineyard is ideal for Riesling.
This Riesling with a beautiful vertical structure is dry, delicate, chiseled and can be aged for at least 10 years or more. It is a very limited production, almost confidential ...
