The 2017 Zinfandel Turley Estate is powerful, rich and savory, with a huge core of fruit that opens up on the mid-palate. All of this fruit was brought in before the Labor Day heat spikes, which may explain why the wine is so tannic and unyielding in the early going. Dried cherry, tobacco, cedar and smoke add the closing shades of nuance. Range: 89-92
90pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
From the vineyards located around the winery, planted in 2006, the 2017 Zinfandel Turley Estate has a medium to deep ruby color with a very dark, broody nose of toasted coconut, fried herbs, turned earth, charcuterie and baked black and red fruits. Medium-bodied with a slick texture, it's very broody, earthy and savory in the mouth, featuring olive and meaty notes, with soft tannins and great freshness, finishing long and very savory. 2,000 cases produced.
This vineyard is special to all at the winery; right in their backyard, it’s what they see every day at work (and from the family home!) In 2006 they planted 6 acres of head-trained dry-farmed Zinfandel that compliments the original planting from ten years prior, all of which are certified organic.
