92pts James Suckling
Red berries, dried herbs, cedar and spices. Medium-bodied with some good concentration for a Rosso and showing plenty of red berries to the core and tangy acidity to boot.
90pts Wine Spectator
Sour cherry, strawberry, floral, tobacco and mineral flavors weave throughout this rich red, backed by a firm spine of tannins. Fresh finish.
Winemaker Notes
Elegant and refined with alluring redand black fruits, flowers and mocha in the nose and mouth, this Rosso di Montalcino is made from the younger Brunello vines. It will make a perfect accompaniment to pork dishes, especially with rosemary accents, grilled tuna, pasta pomodoro or bolognese, and/or with fine Italian cheeses.
