94pts James Suckling
The nose is perfumed and lifted, with notes of blackcurrants, boysenberries, violets, blueberries and mocha. The palate is full-bodied with finely grained tannins and focused acidity, showing tightly bound notes of potpourri, iodine, wild blackberries and mulberries, Very fresh and focused, with a structure that will age gracefully. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
94pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon leads with glossy black fruits, dried mint, licorice, pink peppercorn and blood plum. The tannins are chewy and supple and feel ultra fine in the context of the length of flavor and intensity thereof. Silty is another word. It's a lovely wine, from a very good Cabernet vintage in Margaret River. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
Wine Spectator
This red's black licorice, fennel and herbal notes are bold, with drying, chalky tannins and cedary overtones to the currant, dried berry and plum notes. Drink now. 6,800 cases made, 280 cases imported.
Tasting Notes
Deep red with purple hues. Dark fruits of the forest, mulberries, and cassis with hints of potpourri, nori and graphite. Full-bodied yet refined, the generous palate offers a core of inky berry fruits; boysenberry, blackcurrants and Satsuma plums, framed by subtle cedar and spicy oak characters. Dense and well-structured, the palate is layered with these dark fleshy fruit characteristics and ripe tannins which culminate through to a persistent Cabernet finish.
