90pts Wilfred Wong
The ZD Chardonnay is not your typical, cookie-cutter Chard. This one is barrel-aged in American oak. This wine is full and generous. Its aromas and flavors of ripe apples, citrus, and oak come right onto the palate with gusto. Pair it with full-flavored shellfish in a cream sauce. (Tasted: August 19, 2019, San Francisco, CA)
Intense and alluring, tropical aromas of guava, pineapple, and lime zest are complemented by subtle hints of orange blossom and vanilla. The palate is rich and full of citrus notes mingled with flavors reminiscent of crème brûlée, and the bright acidity is well balanced by subtle oak characteristics. Enjoy!
