First tart and bright with dried cranberries, cherries and orange peel on the nose, then aromas of damp earth, mushrooms, old leather and cigar wrapper take over with just a whisper of vanilla bean. The palate offers blackberries, dark chocolate and notes of forest floor ignited by heat and acid. 

Wine Spectaor

Dry and spicy, with ground black pepper, earth and cherry flavors allied to a juicy texture. Light tannins grace the moderately long finish. Drink now. 1,500 cases imported.

Vinous

Dark and brooding in the glass, the 2021 Rosso di Montalcino slowly opens with a blend of crushed rocks and woodland berries complicated by ginestra and smoke. Silky and round, this washes easily across the palate, showing ripe red and hints of blue fruit. It finishes staining and long yet only lightly structured. A licorice resonance lingers on.

Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino DOC is a vibrant ruby ??red color. Its nose offers aromas of small red fruit, in particular red currants and raspberries, followed by floral notes of dog rose and lavender and light hints of candied citron. Flavors on the palate are fragrant with lively tannins that lead to a lengthy, vibrant and savory finish.
