A deft but still easily perceptible dollop of wood sets off cool, airy and attractively fresh aromas of various white orchard fruit and just sliced lemon. There is excellent volume to the medium-bodied and sappy flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the beautifully long, balanced, dry and complex finale. This is an excellent and ageworthy Bourgogne and worth checking out.

Winemaker Notes

On the palate, the 2021 Domaine Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc exhibits a remarkable balance between richness and freshness. The Chardonnay grapes are expertly vinified to create a wine that is both opulent and vibrant. Flavors of ripe stone fruits, such as succulent peaches and nectarines, dance harmoniously with zesty lemon and a touch of honey. The wine's texture is luxurious and creamy, caressing the palate with a velvety smoothness.

Domaine Leflaive is an historical Burgundy estate historically runned by Anne Claude Leflaive who transformed the estate in biodynamic and enabled the wines to be amongst the very best in the Montrachet region. Today the helm is transferred to the 4th generation with Brice de La Morandiere's, Anne-Claude's nephew and great grand son of Joseph Leflaive the founder.
