Named for Blocks B, F and D, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon BFD ratchets up the intensity level just a hair over the regular To Kalon bottling. Full-bodied and richly tannic, this concentrated wine should be at its best somewhere around 2035–2040. There's lots of stuffing here, plus wonderful aromas of ripe cherries and earthy loam and a long, dusty finish.

Inky and floral on the nose with black currant and lead pencil aromas that follow through to a medium body with juicy fruit and a terra-cotta note coming through. Very fine velvety texture. Flavorful and delicious. Very To Kalon.

Winemaker Notes

The 2021 To Kalon FnA is aromatically a mix of blackberries, tar, and forest floor. On the palate this wine is very supple, with purity of fruit, spice, and less obvious structure than the other To Kalon‘s of this vintage. This wine shows tremendous breadth on the palate, length on the finish, and of the three To Kalon‘s from this Vintage, this bottling will be the most approachable at a younger age.

One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wine. Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today, covering half of the land under vine, commanding the highest prices per ton and earning the most critical acclaim. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
