About the Wine

Borgogno's Nebbiolo "No Name" embodies a journey through the history and innovation of winemaking, combining respect for tradition with a touch of creative rebellion. Born in the fertile lands of the Barolo region, this Langhe Nebbiolo stands out for the pure essence of its grapes, enhanced by a unique terroir of calcareous marl and clay, which imbues the wine with incomparable complexity and richness. Care and precision permeate every stage of its creation, from manual harvesting to natural fermentation in massive concrete tanks, and then a refined maturation in Slavonian oak barrels. This process, which lasts over two years, imbues the wine with structural strength combined with velvety refinement.

A declassified Barolo wine, a label of protest against Italian wine bureaucracy.Ruby red color with purple highlights. Ethereal, persistent with violet, rose, fresh fruits and spicy hints on the nose. A dry, harmonius, velvety, full-bodied wine, austere and generous wine.

About the Winery

Borgogno is a wine institution, with roots dating back to 1761 in the Langhe region of Piedmont. This historic winery has spanned centuries of Italian wine history, significantly contributing to the development of Barolo, known as the "King of Wines." Cesare Borgogno's innovative vision in the 1920s, which expanded production and began exporting wines abroad, positioned Borgogno as an international benchmark in the winemaking landscape. Today, Borgogno manages 39 hectares of land, 31 of which are vineyards, with plantations ranging from native varietals like Nebbiolo, the star of their renowned Barolos, to lesser-known varieties like Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Riesling, and Timorasso, the latter currently undergoing a revitalization project. Borgogno's philosophy, which combines respect for tradition with an eye for sustainability and innovation, is reflected in its wines, appreciated both for their traditional style and long-term aging potential, making them a favorite among Italian wine enthusiasts and collectors.
