The 2015 Blend Fines Terrae is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 12% Syrah from Maipo, aged in new French oak barrels. Dark garnet red in hue. The attractively complex nose presents notes of ripe blackcurrant, mint, pepper, thyme, bay leaf, cigar box and dried flowers. Voluminous with a refined texture and dry, reactive tannins. The flavors are fruity and well-defined with the thyme that becomes especially clear at the back of the mouth. A lingering, complex red.

A blend of fruit from Cousiño’s two vineyards, the original high-elevation site in Macul, close to Santiago, and their newer property in Buin, this includes cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah. The syrah brings a maple-syrup sweetness to the wine’s umami notes of mushrooms. This is floral and juicy, to pour with a barbecued brisket.

Winemaker Notes

Finis Terrae 2015 presents an intense and deep red bright color. It´s aromas are intense, reminding us to red berries, leather, liquor candy and toasted vanilla. The mouthfeel is thick and gentle, tannins are round and very present, it´s balanced with a very rich acidity which makes us enjoy a very long experience.

This is an excellent wine for intense preparation such as Filet mignon with red wine reduction or grilled lamb chops accompanied by truffle potato skins.
