Based on 89% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Semillon and brought up in second-fill acacia and neutral French oak barrels, with a small amount in concrete eggs, the 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is a richer styled effort that has ripe lemon curd, lanolin, and honeyed flowers all defining its aromatics. It's medium-bodied, has a layered texture, bright, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It reminds me of some Semillon blends from Bordeaux given its richness, and it's going to shine on the dinner table over the coming 2-4 years. Drink 2025-2029.

A blend of 89% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Sémillon, Groth's 2024 Estate Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in a mix of neutral oak barrels and second-fill acacia wood, with the Sémillon going into concrete egg. The result is a wine characterized by bold scents of honeyed fig and melon, with just a hint of pencil shavings. It's medium- to full-bodied, expansive, generous and even rich across the mid-palate, then tightens up nicely on the finish, ending clean and lemony.
90pts James Suckling
This has citrusy, slightly grassy character with apples, lemon rind, spicy herbs and crushed stones on the nose. Medium-bodied, textured and juicy, it finishes creamy and sleek. Drink now.
Tasting Notes
The 2024 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc has a beautiful pale straw color. On the nose, it bursts with fresh-cut cantaloupe, zesty lime, ripe papaya, a hint of candied lemon, and a touch of white pepper. The palate offers refreshing lemon-lime and citrus oil notes, giving it a smooth, lively character. It has a crisp, clean finish with just the right amount of bright acidity and a lovely waxy feel.

Winery Notes
Groth Vineyards & Winery was founded in 1982 by Dennis and Judy Groth in Oakville, Napa Valley, quickly earning acclaim for its commitment to estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery rose to international prominence when its 1985 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon became the first American wine to receive a perfect 100-point score from Wine Spectator in 1989. Today, Groth remains family-owned and continues to focus on producing high-quality wines from its Oakville and Hillview vineyards, combining modern winemaking with a long-standing dedication to Napa Valley terroir and excellence.
