Herbal aromas of dill and tarragon match with lemon zest. Lime ice is crisp and thrilling on the palate, which opens further dotted by guava and yellow floral tones. Lingers long on the finish. Graceful. 100% stainless steel fermented.
Winemaker Notes
‘Map Maker’ Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect example of a luxuriously classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Intensely aromatic with attractive herbs and stony notes. A creamy dry, tangy sauvignon blanc with green capsicum, lime zest, gooseberry and subtle tropical fruit and passionfruit flavours. A light, fresh wine with good purity and energy.
‘Map Maker’ Sauvignon Blanc is grown in small individual vineyard parcels in some of the top sub-appellations of the Marlborough Region. Each parcel comes from a unique site which is renowned for either old riverbed clayish soils or riverbank gravels. This land delivers the original vibrant flavours for which Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is so famous. Each parcel of Sauvignon Blanc is harvested separately, providing us with an array of different flavours and structure. The first picks have the hallmark Marlborough herbaciousness and crisp acidity, these combine elegantly with the concentrated rich tropical fruit of the later picks.
Passionfruit, cut grass, citrus and grapefruit nose with exotic fruit flavours. Bone dry and crisp with excellent balance.
Vineyard Notes
Superb New Zealand Sauvignon blended from three exceptional terroirs adjacent to the famous Cloudy Bay vineyard. These three individual parcels of land are planted with three different Sauvignon clones adapted specifically for each terroir. Grapes are selected at optimum ripeness and fermented separately using indigenous yeast. Grower Ruud Maasdan has gained a reputation for fruit forward wines, with all the personality of the region.
