The palate is medium-bodied with high-tension acidity, showing notes of mandarins, jasmine and salt brine. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged in old French oak barrels for six months. Winemaker's Notes

An estate blend, sourced from thirty-two acres of our Ambassador’s 1953, Day, de Brye, Ramos & Zellerbach vineyard blocks all on rocky volcanic and clay-loam soils. Wente and Hanzell clones are planted primarily on St. George rootstock. The average vine age by volume is 34 years.

Bright, lacey and elevated notes of citrus zest, kumquat, pink grapefruit, key lime, white peach, honeysuckle, lemon verbena, cinnamon and crushed slate make a striking first impression. The palate mirrors the nose, offering green pear, yellow apple, honeydew and hints of hazelnut all carried on a lingering, juicy finish. The 2022 Hanzell Chardonnay will surely be a crowd favorite for decades to come.
