Stunning notes of licorice and florals join black cherries and cassis underscored by loamy earth. It's full-bodied, rich and tannic but also wonderfully ripe and long. The fruit comes from the old-vine section of block 1 planted to clone 4. 105 cases produced.

This is the first vintage Perchance has produced a wine from Beckstoffer and it is absolutely stunning. It begins with incredibally perfumed aromatics that are fresh, pure and expressive with black currants and blueberries that are joined by violets, sweet spices and graphite that burst from the glass. On the palate, this is full body, rich and opulent with deep layers of gorgeous ripe fruit blue accented by more sweet spices, graphite and blue florals. Beautifully concentrated, balanced and structured, long seamless finish. This is an utterly striking Cabernet that highlights the qualities of this iconic vineyard. While it is already extremely impressive, it should go on to age gracefully for years to come.

The 2021 Perchance Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color. It soars from the glass with vivacious notes of crème de cassis, blueberry pie, and boysenberry preserves, giving way to touches of fragrant soil, black truffles, aniseed, and cinnamon stick. Full-bodied, the palate is laden with black fruit preserves and earth and spice nuances, supported by firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and minerally.

Full-bodied, concentrated, and incredibly expansive, this ripe, sexy beast will scratch any itch you might have for a powerful Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It will evolve for two decades.

Vineyard Notes

In the heart of Napa Valley lies the legendary Beckstoffer To Kalon vineyard, producing some of the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Its rich history dates back to the late 1800s when Hamilton Walker Crabb first planted grapevines on the land. Since then, To Kalon has become a symbol of Napa Valley's winemaking excellence and a testament to the enduring legacy of its founders. The vineyard’s exceptional reputation is due, in part, to its unique terroir. The soil is composed of gravelly loam and volcanic ash, providing excellent drainage and forcing the vines to work hard for water and nutrients. The cooling influence of the nearby San Pablo Bay moderates temperatures, creating ideal conditions for ripening the grapes slowly and evenly.
