About the Wine

Sparkling from start-to-finish with an Elton John star-shaped sunglasses vibe, the Halley’s Comet Pinot Noir is a showstopper. Opens with dazzling notes of high-tone, ripe raspberries and fresh-picked, wild strawberries. The medium bodied palate with bright tannins frame the long, ovation inducing finish.

A love letter to the spirit of the California Summer, each Pinot Noir wine is a barrel selection blend showcasing a unique expression of the California lifestyle and legendary qualities Pinot Noir on the Sonoma Coast exudes. As Jayson tastes each barrel, he builds a wine that is his interpretation, expressing a time and place on the California coast.

Vineyard Notes

Each hillside vineyard site is chosen for the generous slope, unique sequence of Goldridge soils, ranging from 900-1900 feet above sea level, and microclimate to add dimension to the wines. A rare, fine-grained sandy loam, Goldridge soils are known for excellent drainage, and a characteristically light and fluffy texture. Some of the particularly unique sites have Goldridge layered on top of ancient seabed where finding fossils in the soil is not unusual and a clay content that helps the soil retain precious moisture during the growing season. The coastal climate of the region is marked by
warm, dry summers and cool, damp winters.
