Vinous

The 2017 Carmignano Riserva Grumarello is dark and understated in the glass. Musky black currants, tobacco and camphor notes form its bouquet. This is soft and round in texture with black currant fruit and savory herbal tones, yet it’s a bit one-dimensional. It finishes with aggressive tannic heft, leaving a primary concentration that creates an overly clenched style through the finale.

Winemaker Notes

Pale ruby red color with evident garnet reflections deriving from the maturation process. On the nose it is fine, intense and harmonious with a broad and complex bouquet with notes of black fruits, tobacco, clove and leather. Excellent harmony and body enriched by great persistence and an excellent acidity.

To be combined with large dishes of red meat, furred and feathered game. It is advisable to uncork the bottle and possibly decant at least one hour before consumption.
