Michel Gassier Chateauneuf du Pape 2022 - 750ml
93pts Jeb Dunnuck
Not yet bottled and based on 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape reveals a semi-translucent medium ruby hue to go with an incredibly floral, up-front, perfumed style in its red fruits, spring flowers, orange tea, and spicy, peppery aromas and flavors. It's textured, medium to full-bodied, has supple tannins, and outstanding length.
93pts Vinous
Mixing 80% Grenache and the remainder equally split between Syrah and Mourvèdre, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Michel & Tina Gassier unfurls with raspberry compote, strawberry jam, melted licorice and traces of orange rind. Built around soft tannins and refreshing acidity, the 2022 is delightful.
Tasting Notes:
o Appearance: a deep garnet with brilliant highlights
o Nose: raspberry, garrigues and hints of orange zest.
o Taste: full bodied, with loads of red fruits and a creamy midpalate. Tannins are very fine, giving a fresh and long finish.
Winery Notes
This renowned appellation produces wines of power and depth. The variety of soils and microclimates allow for a great diversity of style. Favoring sandy soils with cooler exposures our blend of Grenache and Syrah spiced with a splash of Mourvèdre and aged in demi-muids delivers incredible purity and freshness while keeping a hedonistic signature.
