Mulberries and cranberries mingle with black tea leaves, fresh-cracked black pepper and graphite on the nose. Astringent, metallic notes are prominent again on the palate, balanced cleanly against more berry flavors and polished but firm tannins. A very fine introduction to this lesser-known varietal.

Winemaker Notes

Described for the first time in 1735, Perricone – nicknamed “Guarnaccio” by the Regaleali winemakers – has been cultivated at the Estate since 1959. A selection from the historical San Lucio vineyard, provided new vines to enable the making of this one, rich in polyphenols and spicy aromas, evoking memories of ancient wine tradition.
