95pts Wine Spectator
Sinewy structure meets harmony and polish in this red, which offers vibrant raspberry and blueberry flavors that take on accents of violet, crushed stone and dusky spice. Finishes with refined tannins. Drink now through 2031. 485 cases made.

Opaque ruby, the 2019 Pinot Noir Zena Crown Vineyard has a more introspective character on the nose, with cedar, black cherry compote, and forest floor. The palate is generous without weight and has a velveteen texture, with more pure black cherry and mocha. This is a rather seductive wine to drink now, although it will certainly benefit from time in the cellar. Drink 2023-2033.

Blackberries and violets with some spices throughout. Medium body, with medium round tannins and a savory finish. A little light at the end, but attractive. Drink now.
Tasting Notes
Blackberry and dark cherry intertwine with vanilla spice and oak. A fresh sweetness upon entry evolves into fine grain tannin with a nearly floral component to the finish.
Vineyard Notes
Zena Crown Vineyard is located towards the southern end of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, home to many of Oregon's finest Pinot Noir vineyards. During the growing season, ocean breezes push through the Van Duzer Corridor in the Coast Range, maintaining a consistently cool climate. This climate, combined with the shallow, well-drained volcanic soils of the Jory and Nekia series that dominate the AVA, is the primary reason the Eola-Amity Hills AVA is emerging as one of the world's most exciting wine regions. We source from select blocks across the vineyard, picking primarily clonal selections of 667, 114, and 777.
