92pts James Suckling
Very snappy and crisp on first sip, this gains depth and complexity in toasted almonds and butter as it opens. Alive with crisp apples, lemon zest and a mineral tang that gives a very lively texture and great balance. Medium-bodied. Blended from 60 sites in the region, it was partially barrel fermented. Drink or hold.
Vinous
The 2022 Bourgogne Blanc Les Sétilles has a touch of crushed stone and sea spray on the nose. It’s not complex, though there is adequate freshness for a regional white. The palate is well balanced with good concentration on the entry, showing hints of stem ginger toward the finish. Drink over the next two or three years. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
Tasting Notes
Les Sétilles is a seductive and accessible wine, revealing a nose with pleasant honeyed notes and white-fleshed fruits. Its freshness is accompanied by a delicate feel on the palate, and the finish is expressive with chalky nuances.
Ideal with a fillet of swordfish marinated in lime, fried calamari or a hot or cold Brie.
Winemaker Notes
The soil is quite rich in colluvium and small pebbles. The wine comes from a blend of around sixty selected plots located both in the village of Puligny-Montrachet and also in Meursault. Three plots of the Côte Chalonnaise and ten in the Hautes Côte de Beaune complete the supplies.
A signature wine from the House. Sétilles is the cadastral name of the place in the village where Olivier Leflaive's cellar is located.
