Tasting Notes

Luminescent magenta shimmers beautifully to showcase this energetic brilliance. High-toned aromas of dark briary and red fruit leap from the glass. Pomegranate, chocolate covered cherries and açai berries bring an incredibly exotic profile to the nose. Fermented tea, tobacco, nutmeg, and clove spices add layers of nuance to the dense ripe fruit character. The exuberant tannins show this wine’s youthful energy. While it is not subtle in weight or structure, this vintage has a more graceful texture on the palate allowing the inherent complexity to have the last word as the finish lingers on. 

About the Wine

We have a great relationship with Landry's restaurant group and the team at Del Frisco's, so when my mentor Keith Goldston, MS, Landry's corporate wine buyer, asked if we could collaborate on something together, we were very excited to produce Lot 1981 for Del Frisco's "by the glass" Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is remarkable in its approachability and is meant for enjoying young in contrast to the Reserve bottling which is built for cellaring.

About the Winery

The wine is sourced from some of the most celebrated vineyards in the Napa Valley.
