97pts Tasting Panel
Cool initial suggestions of lime, chalk, and buttered toast make way for decidedly sunny aromas of yellow apple, Anjou pear, peach and pluot sprinkled with white flowers. Making a luxurious texture in perfect balance with moderately tangy acidity, the fruit takes on a bit of a honeyed tropical cast in the mouth, with pineapple and mango ushering in a finishing dash of earthy lemon pepper on the long, fresh finish. The effect is effortlessly stylish.
93pts James Suckling
Very fresh and clean with lemon-pith, fresh sourdough and white-apricot aromas. Hint of almond, too. Refreshing and creamy on the palate, with fine bubbles and a bright, sleek finish. 2021 base, with 38% reserve wines. Disgorged early 2024. 7g/L dosage. Drink now.
92pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The first scents of Ruinart’s NV Blanc de Blancs are floral in character, accompanied by aromas of lemon oil, spices and citrus blossoms. It’s medium-bodied and perfectly balanced on the palate, with a round, seamless texture that segues into a mouthwatering, ethereal finish. It should age well for five to eight years.
91pts Jeb Dunnuck
The NV Champagne Blanc De Blancs Brut comes mostly from the 2021 base vintage, where 40% reserve wine was used (about 10% more than in more productive years due to the loss of mildew pressure in the vintage). All stainless steel-fermented with full malo, it pours a bright silver/straw color, and the nose is quite appealing, with aromas of bread dough, attractive white flowers, citrus zest, and fresh lime. Easygoing and approachable, it has a chalky texture feel with a kiss of sweet fruit and is quite elegant. It’s perfect for drinking now or over the next 5-6 years. 7 grams per dosage liter.
90pts Wine Spectator
A refreshing, mineral-driven Champagne, with a lacy mousse. Offers flavors of crunchy pear, peach skin and acacia blossoms, plus a fragrant skein of graphite, anise and ginger that lingers on the smoke-tinged finish. Drink now.
Tasting Notes
Visually, the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs has a brilliant robe with a beautiful pale yellow color and slight hints of almond green and jade green reflections. The first nose reveals intense aromas of fresh fruit: ripe lemon, juicy pear, or freshly picked peach. The secondary aromas are more floral with hints of white flowers, accompanied by a spicy touch combining ginger and pink peppercorns. Balancing tension with roundness, the enveloping structure is highlighted by fresh aromas of ripe citrus and tropical fruit. With a long and delicate finale.
Resident Chef Valérie Radou and Cellar Master Frédéric Panaïotis, recommend pairing this champagne with seafood or fish.
