90pts Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

Planted 25 years ago and dying because of the rootstock problem. Pale lemon colour, with not so much bouquet. A little firm on the palate, undemonstrative though there is plenty of flesh, a little acidity. For the moment it is lacking a little personality. Drink from 2026-2029

A penetrating Chardonnay from this old-school Burgundian producer. Production is very limited, acidity always balanced and cellerworthiness assured."La Pièce Sous les Bois" or "the place under the woods" sounds secretive however there's no reason to hide any drop of this excellent Premier Cru.
