Tasting Notes

SP68 Bianco is a fresh and fruity wine that best expresses the personality of Sicily. Born from a blend of Albanello and Zibibbo. It has a straw yellow color. On the nose are obvious hints of exotic fruit, honey and Mediterranean scrub. The mouth is fresh, mineral with a slightly almond-shaped closure. SP68 more than a road is a journey, that of the ancient peasants who already carried in their amphora the fruit of their work and that of the current agriculture directed to their vineyards.

Winemaker Notes

Arianna’s home town of Vittoria lies in the far south of Sicily just to the west of Ragusa. It is here that she has been making wine for the past ten years under the tutelage of her uncle, Giusto Occhipinti who owns and runs the famous COS estate.

60% Zibibbo/40% Albanello. The two varieties are native to Sicily--Zibibbo is more widely known as Muscat of Alexandria--and are grown on red sand soils over limestone rock, with vines averaging 15 years old on two different sites. The grapes are co-fermented and aged in concrete tanks. Bottled unfiltered. 'SP68' is a road near Arianna's Vittoria estate which lends its name to her flagship white and red.
